JACK RICHARDSON

ABOUT JACK
I’m a wildlife and natural history filmmaker based in the UK, specialising in capturing intimate animal behaviour using drone and long-lens cinematography.
Field craft comes first in my work. I combine it with strong editorial vision and technical skill to craft character-led, blue-chip sequences. My filmmaking has taken me to wild and remote places across the globe, where I’ve captured multiple world firsts.
After completing a PhD in Earth Sciences in 2020, I worked at the University of Oxford’s Department of Zoology. I then joined the BBC Natural History Unit as an in-house researcher and camera operator, contributing to HOME - the most ambitious blue-chip commission in natural history to date. I fledged the Unit in 2024 as a cinematographer. My work reflects my passion for the characters at the heart of science, wildlife, and the natural world.
